I am a Doctor of Naturopathy (ND), trained in traditional, complementary, and holistic approaches to health and wellness. With more than 25 years of experience in the field of natural health, my work is grounded in the belief that the body functions as an interconnected system and possesses an innate ability to maintain balance and optimal well-being.
I earned my Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Trinity School of Natural Health and completed acaademic studies at Hampton Institute (now Hampton University), The New School for Social Research, and the Somerset School of Massage Therapy. Throughout my career, I have maintained a naturopathic practice dedicated to helping individuals achieve their wellness goals through natural health approaches.
As a naturopathic doctor, I work with nutrition, dietary supplementation, herbal and botanical medicine, homeopathy, cannabinoids, iridology, massage therapy, and natural detoxification practices. My role is to assess health patterns, identify potential imbalances, and provide individualized recommendations that support overall wellness and healthy living.
In addition to my clinical work, I have served as a Health Educator at Rutgers University's Graduate School of Public Health and as an adjunct faculty member at Essex County College, where I taught health-related courses and helped coordinate and instruct the Massage Therapy Certificate Program. These experiences have allowed me to combine my passion for education with my commitment to promoting holistic health and wellness.
Unlike medical doctors (MDs), naturopathic doctors practice within a different scope that emphasizes education, prevention, lifestyle, and natural health strategies. Medical doctors are licensed to diagnose disease, prescribe pharmaceutical medications, perform medical procedures, and conduct surgery. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I consider the whole person—body, mind, lifestyle, and environment—when developing wellness recommendations.
Naturopathic medicine integrates both Eastern and Western health concepts to support the body's innate capacity for balance, known as homeostasis. In the original sense of the word, a doctor is a teacher, and a central part of my work is educating and empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
